Glass covers are convenient for watching food cook and have curved handles plus wide-banded stainless-steel rims for durability.

Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 7-Piece Cookware Set
This seven-piece cookware set is deluxe: it outfits a kitchen for a lifetime of essential cooking needs. The virtues of Calphalon's anodized aluminum are highly praised among cooks: even heat distribution, stick-resistant surfaces, quick heating and cooling, durable construction, and attractive design. The set includes one fry pan (or omelet pan, as Calphalon calls them); one lidded saucepan, perfect for making a variety of sauces, simmering side dishes, or cooking small batches of soup; an 8-quart lidded stockpot that will handle the gamut from pasta to soup to corn; and a true gem, a chef's pan, great for everyday cooking and effectively blends the functions of sauté pan and saucepan. The details of these pots make them especially satisfying to use: riveted stainless-steel handles are sturdy and stay cool while cooking, lids fit easily and seal in juices, the stick-resistant finish means you need only use a minimum amount of oil, and the pans are all safe for the oven and broiler. Care for these pans with consideration for the long, useful life they offer: always wash them by hand with mild cleaners. --Sherry Smith

Customer Review: Great pots, good selection
I have a lot of Calphalon in my kitchen- it's all I use on the stovetop aside from a couple of cast iron skillets, a wok, and a really big stainless stockpot. But it's the Calphalon that handle the bulk of the day to day cooking. As others have noted, they're tough, and they have great heat conductivity. This set is pretty close to what I'd buy for starters, too; it comes pretty close to what I have hanging over the stove right now. One caveat if you're not familiar with Calphalon: The anodized coating is super hard, but the typical alkaline detergents used in dishwashers will damage it. You have to hand scrub your Calphalon, or find a ph-neutral detergent.
Customer Review: Essential for both home and professional cooks
I purchased this set for my first apartment as a cooking enthusiast. I am now attending culinary school and every pot and pan looks as perfect as the day I bought them, even with constant heavy-duty use. In regards to other reviewers who have complained about food sticking to the pan: the pans must be preheated to an appropriate tempurature for the food you are cooking; or don't move food around in the pan before it's "set". With proper cooking technique you will have no problems, food will slide right off the pan. The main reason I chose the hard anodized is for its quick, even heating and durability, perfect for searing and finishing in the oven or broiler. The material is thick, won't warp in a 500 degree oven, and doesn't need any special utensils. And I don't have to worry about cleaning baked on grease - soaking the pan shortly in soapy water takes care of it. Clean up is simple - these are much easier to get squeaky clean than any of the numerous stainless steel and copper pans I have. Once in a while I use Dormond cleaner to keep the black finish dark and satiny. My only complaint is that Calphalon no longer makes skillets (or omelette pans as they call them) without a nonstick finish. I recently purchased the Calphalon One infused anodized skillet and have not used it long enough to test its durability, but its the next best thing.

Customer Review: Christmas Gift
I ordered this product as a Christmas gift and paid for the two day delivery. I am very upset with DHL they fouled up and took four days to deliver my package allthough it was in town on time. They admitted the late delivery was thier fault but since it was the holidays they refused a refund of the shipping charge. The product is great and I'm very happy with the retailer and the product. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH DHL OR WITH ANY RETAILER THAT USES THEM.
Customer Review: Impressive cookware
I bought this set to replace my old no-name cookware set. It's a HUGE difference and I'm glad I bought Calphalon. The material is thick and heavy which are the characteristics of good cookware according to my aunts who cook for 30 years. The design of this set is really nice. I was worried about the handle which is made of some kind of metal though it's written as hand-cool handle. From my cooking, the handle is cool even when the pots/pats were at the temperature of boiling hot. I don't know how Calphalon did that but the heat from the container didn't transfer to the handle at all. All in all, I highly recommend this set to everyone. It looks really good and the quality is way beyond my expectation!

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set
The high-quality Contemporary Nonstick line of cookware is designed to meet the needs of busy families while offering the high-quality construction associated with the Calphalon brand. These pots and pans offers a stylish, attractive look while making cooking and cleanup for family meals or special occasions easy and low-stress. Contemporary Nonstick cookware replaces Calphalons original and highly popular Professional Nonstick II line--but with improvements to make it even better. The most obvious enhancement is in the versatile rounded and flared design of the pots and pans. This design makes a single pan suitable for various cooking techniques and provides better access for pouring and stirring. Also convenient is the capacity line on these pots and pans, which helps prevent cooks from overfilling them.
This set has all the pieces necessary for daily family cooking: 8-inch and 10-inch omelet pans, 1-1/2- and 2-1/2-quart covered saucepans, a 3-quart covered sauté pan, and an 8-quart covered stockpot. The pans exteriors are made of hard-anodized aluminum for superior heat distribution. The interiors are coated with a nonstick surface that is resistant to peeling, chipping, flaking, or cracking. This cookware has ergonomic brushed stainless-steel handles that stay cool to the touch on the stovetop and are riveted to the pans for durability. The lids are tempered glass--for viewing food as it cooks--encircled by a stainless-steel band that complements the cookware and fits snugly into the pans. All Contemporary Nonstick cookware is oven-safe up to 450 degrees F and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Customer Review: They don't last!
I bought this set when my husband and I were married four years ago. I love to cook and bake, and thought these pans were great in the beginning. Four years and $400 later, I am very disappointed. The nonstick coating in every pan is peeling off. Let me be clear: These pans have NEVER seen the dishwasher, metal utensils, or anything but loving care. We thought we were investing in pans we'd have for a long time. Not so. Now, we wish we would've just gotten the stainless All-Clad instead. These were cheaper in the beginning, but they're costing us in the long run. If you're registering for your wedding gifts, DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. Use caution when purchasing any nonstick pans; they'll all fail over time, and you'll just have to keep buying new pans when the coating peels. Learn from my mistake and save yourself the trouble. Skip these pans!
Customer Review: Really nice to cook with
Food cooks better, more evenly than the cheap Tfal I had. No sticking problems. Would like a smaller pan in the set. Easy to clean the interior with the Dobie pad. More trouble to keep the exterior clean. The large sauce pan came with a scratch on the rim and I am considering exchanging it. Love the clear glass tops. Handles do get hot. Pots are heavy and have aggravated my tennis elbow.

Customer Review: Careful on the pricing...
Was looking into possibly buying this set, but probably not here. The Calphalon website says suggested retail price for this set is $299. Not sure where the inflated suggested retail is coming from. I saw a similar note on another Calphalon review - same situation.
Customer Review: Perfect for Us
This 8-piece set fits our needs perfectly. We've not been disappointed. The omelet pans turn out perfect eggs. Nothing sticks (inside or out)to any of the pans. We ordered separate lids for the omelet pans and they fit snugly. This is a great set of cookware.

Customer Review: Impressed chef
I've been cooking quite a bit with this set and do recommend them to the casual cook and/or the professional. The major thing I've noticed is the amazing heat distribution of these pans. I cooked at friends house a couple weeks ago on a crappy electric range and the tuna steak we were cooking turned out perfect like I was cooking at home on my gas range. Also a notable achievement is the easy clean up of these pans. The smooth design seemed cosmetic at first but I've been grateful for the rounded interior edges, they've saved me hours of clean up. Great investment! Lifetime warranty is no joke either. Worth the price.

Calphalon One Infused Anodized 10-Piece Cookware Set
This exciting hybrid combines qualities of both traditional metal and non-stick cooking surfaces. Now not only can you brown, sear, and reduce sauces as the recipe intended, but you can also breathe a sigh of relief as you won't have a battle removing food and stains from the pan following use. How did this happen you ask? CALPHALON ONE INFUSED ANODIZED is manufactured with a revolutionary anodization process. Both interior and exterior surfaces are infused with an advanced release polymer which actually penetrates below the surface of the metal, into its very pores, offering superb durability and versatility. The intrinsic properties of aluminum ensure fast and even heating, as you've come to expect from Calphalon. Pan frying and sauteing are some of the most frequently used cooking techniques. Fast, easy, and efficient, and all covered in the instructional DVD that accompanies this set.
Customer Review: Disappointed
I bought this set a couple of days ago, and I am completely disappointed. Actually, I didn't buy the whole set since it contained a lot of pots and pans whose size deemed them unusable by any standard, so I picked out pots and pans that I imagined would be most necessary in daily use. I ended up buying three infused anodized pots/pans and the rest were non stick, all from Calphalon One line. I used two pots so far and followed all the instructions regarding preheating, cleaning, etc., yet I had the worst experience ever with any cookware. After cleaning the pot and drying it, I noticed some violet patches at the bottom of it that would not come off regardless of what I tried. I called the customer service, and they told me that this was a "normal reaction to heat" and that it would come off. It did not! I have not even tried out the other pans, but after this experience, my only plan for this cookware is to return it ASAP. Also, I wasn't able to sear or deglaze any of the meat, the cooking time was much longer than with other cookware that I have used, the pots didn't react fast enough to heat changes and the food didn't taste any different. What a disappointment!
Customer Review: Love them for cooking - yet there is some residue
I have had this set of pans for over 2 years now. We purchased them following our wedding - and got wonderful extras at that time with the purchase. We cook on them pretty consistently and have not had any problems. It is true they are minor stick, but a little oil tends to keep them in check when cooking. Additionally, there is a bit of starchy residue - as others have mentioned - that appears after cleaning. I tried initially to get it off and had some success, and eventually I just let it be. Thus far it has not affected the cooking or the thermal properties of the pan. It still cooks wonderfully, has great weight and good seal on the lid. Because of my enjoyment of these, I have purchased additional Calph One pans to go along with this. In addition to this set, I do recommend a couple axillary pans such as a small non-stick skillet for eggs, etc, and a deep, straight sided pan such as the saucier. Both are wonderful compliments to the set.

Customer Review: Buyer Beware
We recieved these as a wedding gift in 2004 and now I find that we need all new pots and pans. I love to cook and use these everyday. First - they do not heat evenly, I am constantly moving food around the pan to get the right heat. They have been chipping almost since they were new. We take very good care of our things, and always washed these pans carefully and have never used a metal utensil. So what gives? I have a non stick pan I brought to college (a LONG time ago) that has faired better than these. I have to wonder why they are being sold through a clearance company?
Customer Review: Such a let down...
We had the 13" skillet and a pot, both the Calphalon One non-stick. They both began chipping and flaking after about 5 months. Normally I would think, if someone complained of this happening to them, that they were obviously doing something wrong to the finish. I can assure you that we take very good care of our cookware. We never put them in the dishwasher, hand-washed them the same night after cooking with them, never used metal utensils on them, and used very soft sponges to clean them. Our skillet began flaking so bad that it started to rust last week so we had to stop using it. Both the pot and skillet began to chip around the time time, and they were used for two very different cooking purposes. I believe the finish was defective in the products sold a year ago. We went in to Bed Bath and Beyond last night to see if we could exchange the two pieces for stainless steal. (They let us, by the way, believing as well that they were defective). While at the store, we stopped to take a gander at the same pot and skillet - the new ones have a totally new finish on them. It looks completely different from ours we bought over a year ago. I think Calphalon knows about this defect and have since tried to make the product better. So maybe if you purchase a new piece, you'll have better luck. However, I would strongly recommend stainless or cast iron above a non-stick set any day. Even though it's Calphalon brand, beware. Also, we bought the Calphalon One grill pan the same day we bought the skillet and pot. The Grill pan is still in top shape, never flaked at all. We cleaned it the same way we did the skillet and pot. And strangely enough, since it's a grill pan for meat, I've used metal tongs on it all the time - not one scratch or chip or flake. I think it's hit and miss with Calphalon as they seem to always be changing their products. Even in the store last night we saw a rack of omelet pans, all with minor differences - they were all the same product number and same price, yet some had smaller rivets, some had slightly different handles, etc. (Leading me to believe that they are constantly changing their design - not to say they are making them worse, I believe they are trying to make their products better, but you might get stuck being the "lab rat" as they work out the kinks.) I'm just concerned that Calphalon isn't the top-of-the-line brand they used to be. It makes sense, though. The more a professional brand becomes accessible to the public at large, the more they skimp on the production. Another reason why I'm wary of Calphalon now is that on their care instructions, it doesn't matter if it's hard-anodized, stainless, non-stick, or whatever - they have almost unreasonable instructions. You can't soak them, you can't use cooking spray, you can't you can't you can't. I would think that a top brand like Calphalon would be focusing on ways to make outstanding cookware - pieces that stand the test of time and are actually made to be cooked in and cleaned. That's just my opinion, but only in a perfect world I guess. I'm giving them one star b/c I really hoped to use these products longer than one year. Also, it claims to evenly distribute the heat but it never did, even from day one. For the same price or slightly cheaper, you can get stainless or cast iron so this set is NOT worth the money.
